On September 17, Fresh Link Farms reached an exciting milestone — our very first harvest from The Lettuce Shack! After months of planning, building, and growing, we finally got to see our vision come to life in the form of crisp, fresh lettuce.
For this first harvest, we gathered two beautiful varieties: butterhead lettuce and romaine lettuce. The morning was filled with excitement and teamwork as Lara Fuller, Whitney Berry, and Tracy Spindor came together to harvest the lettuce.

But the best part? Immediately putting this food to work for our community. Part of the harvest was delivered to our friends at the Community Caring Center in Azle, helping stock their pantry with fresh, healthy produce. The rest was brought back to Community Link, where it was shared with our very own clients.
The timing couldn’t have been more perfect — our harvest came just in time for North Texas Giving Day. We were able to send clients home with fresh lettuce grown right here at Fresh Link Farms.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported this project and helped us bring it to life. This is just the beginning of our journey to grow fresh produce, fight hunger, and provide a link to hope in our community.
Stay tuned — good things are growing at Fresh Link Farms, and we can’t wait to share what comes next.
