On April 18, we proudly celebrated the grand opening of The Lettuce Shack, a milestone moment for Fresh Link Farms and our entire community. Despite the rainy, chilly weather, so many of you showed up to support the farm!
This project has always been about more than just growing food. It’s about growing connection, opportunity, and access—and opening day was a beautiful reflection of that.
One of the highlights of the day was inviting visitors to step inside, see the farm up close, and even harvest their own lettuce to take home. Watching our community members experience where their food is grown—and take part in that process—was incredibly special. We were also grateful to have the Community Caring Center, a food pantry in Azle, stop by. We’re thankful for the opportunity to share some of our harvest with them and support the work they’re doing in the community.
Fresh Link Farms is helping us build something meaningful: a way to grow consistent, hyper-local produce year-round. This allows us to expand access to fresh food, support our food pantry efforts, and strengthen our local food system right here in our community.
We are so grateful to everyone who has supported this vision—from the very beginning to opening day. It truly takes a community that cares deeply about access to fresh, healthy food.
